It is time to break out the shorts!  Summer will have officially arrived this coming weekend and I couldn’t be more excited!!

In order for your legs and under arms to be properly prepared you need a stellar razor.  My favorite is the Schick Hydro Silk (disposable and refillable options available) which contains 5 blades to get the job done in one easy swipe.

  • A Moisturizing Serum included helps to keep your legs soft and silky post shave

  • The 5 Blades are flexible and bend to all of your unique curves… which helps give a close shave!
  • Skin Guards surround the blades to prevent irritation
  • The Oval Cartridge shape allows for a comfortable shave in all areas

Pair this razor with your favorite shave cream (here’s mine) and you’ll be all set for the Memorial Day BBQ’s.  Don’t forget your sunblock!

TimeWise Eye Renewal Cream TimeWise Moisture Renewal MaskHay fever has been outrageous here in the Bay Area this year, and I find myself using more and more concealer… as well as more and more netti pots!  Thankfully, Mary Kay sent me some goodies to help me look my best no matter how sneezey I feel.

  • TimeWise Repair Eye Renewal Cream- my first eye cream with a metal applicator that feels incredibly cool and soothing to the touch; this is certainly something that helps depuff my eyes in the morning and tighten the skin! It’s a few favorite.
  • Mary Kay Concealer- helps camouflage the dark circles and my irritated nose
  • Facial Highlighting Pen- in my opinion this is more of a lightening product than a brightener because there is no shimmer to it.  The pen has been great for me to use in addition to concealer and on top of my cheekbones to really hide any redness well.
  • TimeWise Moisture Renewing Gel Mask- this mask has performed miracles where tissues have destroyed my face (i don’t care how much “lotion” is supposedly in there!!).  It is both soothing and cooling; containing chamomile extract and the uber powerful antioxident acai berry extra.

So Becca Cosmetics created a tubing mascara called The Ultimate Mascara.  Truth be told- I don’t think the formula is quite right yet.  I experienced serious flaking every time I wore it, even the first time.  Pass on this one for now my fellow mascara junkies.

xoxo happy Friday!

I LOVE the look of liquid liner on my eyes.  It always intensifies them and adds major drama to whatever makeup I have on- and Eyeko has a skinny liner that makes application completely goof-proof.

The applicator is super fine, and just firm enough to allow for precise control when sculpting a cat eye.  Right now it’s available in five colors and you can grab it from Birchbox or Sephora here in the US.  Line your lids with this and finish with a good mascara and red gloss = sexy lady.

The secret to a perfect long lasting manicure is ALL in the base and top coat.  the best pair I’ve found is from the uber chic brand, Butter London: Nail Foundation Base Coat plus Hardware P.D. Quick Top Coat.

The basecoat gives the perfect nude canvas for your colored-polish to stick to.  Want to be super fabulous?  Don’t use any color and throw the top coat over the base for the cleanest mani you will ever give yourself.  And….. i bet you are wondering what P.D. stands for…. wait for it…… Pretty Darn Quick top coat dries lickity-split so that you don’t need to spend a half hour waiting to dry before going about your day.

Happy Friday folks!  Get thee outside this weekend- just don’t forget your sunscreen (and bronzer!)

Last Tuesday Night Birchbox and Benefit Cosmetics held a night of beauty and cocktails to celebrate Benefit’s latest concealer: Fakeup. Pink sparkling wine and red velvet cupcakes were in abundace as ladies recieved makeovers and lessons. My beauty gal-pal-in-crime Chrissy joined me for the event, check out our photos below!

We may have walked out with a bag STUFFED FULL of new goodies, but the star of the night was Fakeup. I’ll admit, although this concealer has been out for a little while I still hadn’t made my way over to try it. What a pleasant surprise to find that Fakeup hydrates way better than another one I recently posted about. How? The concealer is encompassed by a layer of viatmin E and apple seed extract- and the moisture just doesn’t quit. If you have dry skin like me, this concealer is perfect; I would skip it if you have oily skin and an eye primer doesn’t work. Available in three shades: light, medium, and deep.

What else did I buy? It’s Potent eye cream, a Foundation brush (just learned how much better these are for application!), and They’re Real mascara.

So… while I adore and use every last drop of my super spendy mascara, let me also introduce you to a major find at Target: Maybelline’s The Rocket Volum’ Express mascara.  As implied by the name, your lashes get serious circumference and length from the formula.  My favorite part is the brush- with short spindly bristles that define and separate your lashes like a pro.  It does require eye makeup remover to come off, but thankfully won’t turn your now seductive lashes into hard spiky things.  I’m two months into my tube and still no clumps or flakes.  Yeah for drugstore finds!

Love Radiant Creamy Concealer for it’s ability to provide full coverage without a heavy-pasty texture. It stays put all day and doesn’t settle deep in lines!  Great for anyone who suffers from under eye dark circles.  Available in 10 shades.

For less opaque coverage try Nars’ stick concealer or YSL’s Touche Eclat.

I’ve just arrived in Mexico for a FABULOUS beach vacation.  My sweetie and I plan to do a great deal of reading (kindles are full!), spa-ing, and just indulge in quiet time.  I’ve packed what I consider to be my makeup essentials for the week:
